NSX confirmed for 2010 release

NSX confirmed for 2010 release

Devotees of the late, great Acura NSX – and that's just about everybody, really – have been waiting patiently for the second coming that once reportedly based on the Advanced Sports Car Concept shown above, but Honda keeps on making us wait longer, Honda has revealed that the new NSX will make its debut in 2010. Sometime.

2nd gen Japanese supercar was anticipated for a launch this year at the Tokyo show, but we were disappointed when the Honda pavilion was absent of any such high-performance wizardry. Since the cancellation of the original NSX, TSX and Prelude, the aging S2000 roadster has been left all alone to defend Honda's honor on the sportscar front, while Nissan gets all the glory with the new GT-R.

The new timeline is a bit later than the 2008/2009 launch date that was originally set down by Honda CEO Takeo ***ui, but if it manages to live up to its predecessor, who recalls at this point how far behind schedule the Bugatti.

Lambo Reventon - F22 on wheels

Lambo Reventon - F22 on wheels?
FRANKFURT — We shouldn’t be surprised that Lamborghini’s new ultra-elite supercar shares its name with a bull—this one famous for the 1943 death of legendary matador Felix Guzman in Mexico. Despite its bloody inspiration, every 2008 Reventon has already sold out—to 20 millionaires who wish they could fly F22 Raptor fighter jets. That’s where much of the inspiration came from, according to Lamborghini. Indeed, the unbelievably angular shape looks more like Batman’s next plane than something you’d see on the way to the mall.

The V12 engine will hit 650 hp, and the car will undoubtedly make it to every pre-teen desktop background in the world. The instrument cluster looks remarkably similar to that of Knight Rider’s KITT, and the wheels feature non-functional carbon fiber swatches on each of the spokes.

Lamborghini said today that the Reventon is the most expensive and exclusive car the company has ever created. Without question, it stays true to the company’s design philosophy—extreme, uncompromising and undeniably Italian. The Reventon’s unveiling also show Lamborghini keeping true to its new promise of introducing a new car annually.

Got power windows? How about power doors?

Got power windows? How about power doors?

The 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII, somewhere for sale on ebay. more info
seems like a crazy amount of effort went into something thats not that interesting. The inside of that door is very ugly but of course it can't be stylish since it needs to slide in. I predict all kinds of problems with that door. What if the battery fails? How do you get out? Hate to be in that thing if it caught on fire, and being a ford its not that unlikely.

The NSX to live again exclusive pictures of the new NSX

The NSX to live again

Quote:
It's been awhile since we heard anything about the 2009 Acura NSX. It was over a year ago when Honda officials confirmed a V10 engine for the next-generation NSX, but since then all we've heard or seen out of Japan was the Sports Car Concept shown in Detroit. These latest spy photos taken just outside the Nurburgring suggest work is still very much in progress. This chopped up S2000 features four tailpipes in back and a heavy-duty double wishbone suspension. There's also a makeshift hardtop and some big time wheels and tires. Stay tuned for more shots when this prototype hits the 'Ring.

Quote:
The return of the NSX to Acura's lineup has been an off-and-on again affair, but the latest intel has a new NSX with a 500-horsepower V10 on schedule for an arrival sometime in late 2008 or 2009. While our only indication of what the new NSX may look like up to this point has been the Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept, we do know work is well under way on the car's mechanicals. Thus, we submit these spy photos as Exhibit A, evidence that Acura is currently testing its new NSX. They were taken at the Nurburgring in Germany and show a heavily modified Honda S2000 with quad tailpipes located in the middle of the rear bumper and what appears to be a heavy-duty double wishbone suspension below. The test car also features big wheels and a hardtop of sorts. The S2000 body on this NSX mule suggests that Acura is still far from finalizing a design for the car, but that doesn't appear to have stopped engineers from working on the brand's follow up to the world renowned "everyday supercar" that was the original NSX.

2007 VW shows off monster Golf GTI W12 650 concept

2007 VW shows off monster Golf GTI W12 650 concept

t would appear that the Audi TT clubsport was just an appetizer for the fans at the Wörthersee 2007 meet in Austria. Volkswagen has upped the ante by throwing down a stunner: the Golf GTI W12 650 concept. The ultimate GTI in every way, this car has a claimed top speed of 325 km/h -- 201 mph! -- and a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) of 3.7 seconds.

This is a pure show car, so don't go running to your VW dealer waving around a fistful of cash. He won't be able to help you. Too bad, though, as this super Golf dishes out a mammoth 650 horsepower and over 530 ft lbs of torque from the 6.0L biturbo W12 it's got mounted behind the front seats. All that juice flows through a 6-speed automatic to the rear wheels, which are shod in some seriously meaty rubber.

Lower and wider than a stock GTI, the body retains the production car's doors, hood and lights, but otherwise it's all new. A number of intakes and a redesigned C-pillar help feed air to the 12-cylinder behemoth supplying the go-power. To keep the car planted to the tarmac, VW didn't want to use a massive spoiler to generate downforce. As such, the car's carbon-fiber roof acts as a giant diffuser that funnels air under the small spoiler at its trailing edge. In summary, the whole thing is a big exercise in the awesome.

Translated press release after the jump.

The Ford Fairlane/LTD has finally had its day

One of Australia's longest-running nameplates is dead.
Ford today bowed to the inevitable by withdrawing its luxury twins, the Fairlane and LTD sedans, from production in response to falling sales.
Ford Australia president Tom Gorman made the announcement this morning in a statement issued ahead of a monthly media briefing
"A significant decline in sales of vehicles in the upper large segment over the past few years has meant that local production of long wheelbase variants, primarily for domestic sale only, is currently no longer sustainable," Gorman said.
"The emotion of this decision has been very difficult. Sometimes the hard decision and the right decision are the same one."
The last Fairlane/LTD will be built either late in 2007 or early 2008, ahead of the arrival of the heavily-revised Falon - codenamed Orion - around March 2008.
The move comes as no surprise to drive.com.au, which revealed that Ford was weighing up the future of the Fairlane and LTD as far back as April 2006
Gorman told drive.com.au at the time: "We have to seriously consider whether replacing the Fairlane and LTD is an appropriate place to invest funds going forward".
Now, it's a done deal - the Fairlane and LTD are dead.
The role of flagship in the Ford line-up falls to the $51,490 Fairmont Ghia V8, effectively a tarted-up Falcon.
The decision to axe the Fairlane comes exactly 40 years after the first model emerged from Ford's Broadmeadows factory on the northern outskirts of Melbourne.
However, the Fairlane nameplate first appeared in Australia on imported Fords in 1959.
"The Fairlane nameplate has been a key part of the Ford line-up since 1967," said Gorman, "when the ZA Fairlane ... created a whole new market segment in the process. "
Since then the Fairlane and LTD (added in 1973) have been influential as the flagships of Ford's Australian-made Falcon range, alongside which it has evolved.
These long-wheelbase prestige sedans have occupied a special place among affluent Australians and Ford enthusiasts, and the Fairlane has even been a regular vehicle of choice for Australian Prime Ministers.
Now, it seems Prime Minister John Howard's decision over his next long wheelbase limousine just got a whole lot easier. Only Holden offers locally produced models in this market segment; the Holden Statesman and Caprice.

New Hardcore Civic Type R - R

New Hardcore Civic Type R - R

Few cars have been as eagerly anticipated or made as big an impact as Honda's Civic Type R. The British-built sensation saw off all-comers in a first test against key rivals in Issue 946, and established itself as Auto Express's favourite hot hatch in the process.

Now there's worse news for the opposition. The Japanese firm has created the Type R-R, an even more focused version of the class winner, and a spiritual successor to Ford's Escort Cosworth - and it looks set to kick the Focus ST into touch! We were first to put it to the test.

Its basis is a standard Type R, but a series of modifications swell engine power and reduce kerbweight.

Honda has stripped out the cabin, removing anything that isn't absolutely necessary in the name of shedding the pounds. Gone is the stereo, and for the moment sound deadening is absent, too. The standard seats have now been replaced with figure-hugging racing items, and what these lack in adjustability they make up for by giving a sportier, lower driving position than in the regular car. The racy feeling from behind the wheel is suitably amplified when you press the dash-mounted starter.

As the engine bursts into life, it sounds far more raucous than that of the standard model. Bosses were adamant the original Type R didn't need buckets of power, yet engineers clearly couldn't help themselves when it came to specifying the R-R's motor.

Thanks to careful tuning, this car kicks out a tyre-burning 260bhp. It's the same basic i-VTEC 2.0-litre unit, but Honda has reduced friction on the internals and redesigned the camshafts. However, the greatest power gains have come from electronic improvements made using the ECU to operate the VTEC system.

Now, the engine doesn't go into fuel-sipping mode at lower revs, improving throttle response as a result. Meanwhile, the VTEC set-up cuts in at 5,100rpm instead of 5,400rpm. So rather than the perceptible increase in power you get when VTEC is unleashed on the standard model, the R-R's engine feels stronger throughout the rev range thanks to a 30 per cent hike in torque. Combining a compliant ride with taut handling is one of the standard hot Civic's greatest attributes. And although this car's suspension has been revised to give it more focused handling, it still rides bumps surprisingly well.

Probably the biggest change is to the steering. It has been made even more responsive, so the smallest input to the Alcantara-clad wheel has an immediate impact on the vehicle's position on the road. However, you do have to put your faith in the system because it's lacking in feedback, particularly at low speeds. Still, the car's handling remains nimble and sure-footed.

Another area that doesn't fall short on the standard model is the gear-change. Yet while the original is a manual, this car gets a six-speed sequential unit. You use the clutch to start off, and then simply pull the lever back to shift up and push it forwards to go down through the box.

Changes are made in only 80 milliseconds, which gives a brutal edge to the Type R-R, particularly as the steering wheel writhes with every upshift. Considering how much extra power is going through the front wheels, traction is remarkable. You'd expect to spend a lot of time sitting in a cloud of expensive tyre smoke, but engineers have been careful to tune the suspension so that does not happen. Instead, the car gets on with the job of entertaining its driver with even more purpose than the standard car.

Our drive has left us in no doubt that Honda's Civic is the undisputed hot hatch champion. With more power, it just gets better!

Buggy with BMW power m6 engine cost over 300 thousand to build wow

THE two-time international engine of the year will be at the heart of a quest to win the Finke Desert Race this year.

Start Me Up Racing has chosen a BMW M6 V10 5-litre engine to shoehorn into their off-road buggy to tackle the tough Alice Springs race in June.

Driver Matt Hanson, 34, of Melbourne said the choice was easy as he drives an M6.

"The most attractive thing is the torque," said Hanson who won the national 1600cc off-road class last year.

"You need lots of torque for off-road racing."

The M6 engine produces 395kW of power and 542Nm of torque, with 406Nm at just 1500rpm.

In testing, they have recorded 220km/h on sand with the wheels still spinning and more power in reserve.

Hanson said they bought the engine from California and kept it fairly standard, except for the addition of a Motec engine management system, sports exhaust system and six-speed Albins gearbox.

Even the M6 rev limit of 8250rpm has been retained.

The buggy cost $300,000 to build with the engine costing up to $80,000.

The team of Hanson and co-driver Luke Gladman hope to win the national Pro Class Buggy category for two-wheel-drive vehicles with up to six litres capacity.

Their biggest threat is three-time champion Shannon and Ian Rentsch in a Chenowth powered by a two-litre Nissan SR20 turbo.

Hanson also plans to take the buggy to the US to compete in the off-road series which includes the famous Baja 1000 race down the Californian peninsula into Mexico.

However, they have ruled out an attempt at the Dakar Rally as too expensive.

2009 Jaguar XF Spy Shots and information

Jaguar is preparing a replacement for the S-Type, which will be named the XF and is scheduled for launch this fall.

Code-named X250, the new XF is aimed in particular at buyers of the very successful BMW 5-Series. To that end, Jaguar has developed a more modern and futuristic car and has abandoned the old-fashioned styling of the S-Type. Jaguar introduced such a concept car at the Detroit auto show, wearing the C-XF name.

These photos show a prototype of the production XF caught in Great Britain during testing. The car is still disguised at its front and rear ends but our computer image suggests how it is expected to look upon its release.

The XF gets power from a range of six- and eight-cylinder engines, including the new 3.2-liter in-line six found in the Volvo S80. The 4.2-liter V-8 in the S-Type is expected to be bored out to 5.0 liters.

Club Racer Inspired Honda S2000 CR Prototype to Debut at New York International Auto Show

Honda debuting S2000 Club Racer prototype

Honda has issued a short but very sweet press release this afternoon (check it after the jump) informing us that a "club-racer-inspired" version of the S2000 will debut at the 2007 New York Auto Show in a few weeks. Referred to as "aggressively-tuned", the CR-spec S2000 will be an available trim level on the S2000 beginning this fall. This all begs the question, how long is the S2000 for this corporeal world? Rumors still abound a replacement is being readied by Honda that may deviate sharply from the S2000's steadfast formula of being a high-strung, two-seat sports convertible. Unfortunately Honda didn't release an image, teaser pic or even rendering of the S2000 CR-spec, so just imagine this garden variety 2007 model as "aggressively-tuned".

Perth Australia - Road Rules list very funny

1. Indicators will give away your next move. A real Perth driver never uses them.

2. Under no circumstances should you leave a safe distance between you and the car in front of you, or somebody else will fill in that space, putting you in an even more dangerous situation.

3. Crossing two or more lanes in a single lane change is considered "going with the flow."

4. The faster you drive through a red light, the less chance you have of getting hit.

5. Never get in the way of an older car that needs extensive repairs. The other guy doesn't have anything to lose.

6. Braking is to be done as hard and as late as possible to ensure that your ABS kicks in, giving a nice, relaxing foot massage as the brake pedal pulsates. For those of you without ABS, it's a chance to stretch your legs.

7. Speed limits are arbitrary figures, given only as suggestions and apparently not enforceable in the metro area during rush hour.

8. Please remember that there is no such thing as a shortcut during rush-hour traffic in Perth.

9. Always slow down and rubberneck when you see an accident or even someone changing a tyre.

10. Everybody thinks their vehicle is better than yours, especially 4WD drivers.

11. Learn to swerve abruptly. Perth is the home of High-Speed Slalom Driving thanks to Main Roads, which puts potholes in key locations to test drivers' reflexes and keep them on their toes, not forgetting the 'Test your skill' chicanes in suburbs.

12. It is traditional in Perth to honk your horn at cars that don't move the instant the light changes.

13. Seeking eye contact with another driver revokes your right of way.

14. Never take a green light at face value. Always look right and left before proceeding.

15. Remember that the goal of every Perth driver is to get there first, by whatever means necessary.

16. Real Perth women drivers can put on pantyhose and apply eye makeup at 75 kph in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

17. Real Perth men drivers can remove pantyhose and a bra at 95 kph in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

18. Heavy fog and rain are no reasons to change any of the previously listed rules. These weather conditions are God's way ensuring a natural selection process and creating a need for panel beaters, junkyards, and new vehicle sales. It is an acceptable practice to increase your speed in comparison to the rate of rain fall, i.e.: the harder it rains, the faster you go.

19. There is a commonly held belief in Perth that high-speed tailgating in heavy traffic reduces petrol consumption as you get sucked along in the slipstream of the car in front.

20. It's OK to cut off fully loaded semi-trailers, road trains and buses because, hell - they have brakes.

21. It is an essential duty of the driver to preserve the life of his passengers. Hence no matter how much of an inconvenience it may be, always find a detour around The Causeway, The Narrows, and Guildford.

22. Always anticipate oncoming traffic while driving down a one-way street.

23. Its O.K when driving in Northbridge to air your grievances at bad drivers by giving the "one finger salute" while screaming out "****". However, it is imperative you are driving at least a 5-litre V8 with a crow bar in your lap.

24. Perth drivers are experts at merging, when in two or more lanes travelling in the same direction, ensure that if you see someone politely indicating, waiting slowly trying to merge into your lane, show them that they must 'Wait their turn' to use your lane. Speed up, try to cut them off, should they succeed and get into your lane never mind that it was actually legal for them to do that, ensure that your flash your lights, honk your horn, use extreme hand gestures, even tailgate them, just to let them know, IT WAS YOUR LANE.

25. Ensure that when merging into traffic travelling at any more than 40kph that you stop in the merging lane, backing up traffic for miles behind you, ensuring that you have given yourself or no-one else that opportunity to merge. Again, forget that the traffic handbook states that you should speed up to meet traffic speed then merge. If you are travelling in a lane near a merge lane, don't change lanes to make it easy for them, instead see rule 24, after all they deserve it.

26. While using Perth roundabouts, particularly two lane roundabouts, ENSURE that you are in the left lane to turn right, or the right to turn left, hell lets keep those people in those other lanes on their toes.

27. If you are a TransPerth bus driver, you must win at all costs, getting to your destination prior to any other driver is life and death. Never worry about your passengers bouncing round in the back like tennis balls, hell it's a cheap form of theme park, in fact Perth's very own.

28. Perth taxis see rule 27, except you are now qualifying for the GMC 400.

29. Pedestrian crossings - What are they?

30. If you are a cyclist remember YOU ARE INVINCIBLE, you are stronger than ANY vehicle travelling at speed, MAKE SURE you take the whole lane for yourself, and at night NEVER use lights, remember They Will See You!

31. Remember, the wider, smoother, and safer the road... the lower the speed limit.

32. When driving on the freeway, find somebody who is going slow, drive next to them, so that nobody can pass you. It's called, speed prevention. It's your duty!

Wife for sale - are you looking to buy a new wife, well here is a price list.

I have a STALKER A user on a car forum Im a member on tells about this girl who is a sex crazed stalker

here is he account on what has happened I have coppied and pasted eveyr thing here becuase you have to sign up to read these posts:

Post One -

At work for the past few days, I've recieved calls from some girl who has been asking questions like "Do you have a girlfriend" or things like that, or hangs up if someone except me answers the phone. It's been annoying but not that big a deal, we've just lauged about it in the office.

However, a letter marked "Private - For Ash Jenkinson Re: Employment" was left at the front desk yesterday. Naturally, my co-workers being the wonderful folk that they are, opened it and read what it said, then called me over to read it. And it said this:

Was I just offered money to sexually service her?! And what's the deal with her changing the amount of money that she was going to offer me? Was she counting her change or something and found some more behind the couch?

Now some people have said "What if she's really hot" but it definatly can't be that - if she was hot she'd not have any problem approaching me and saying hi in person. I mean shit, I'm hot as hell but I'm very approachable. I've a friendly smile, you see.

So I've got me a Vodafone Red Sim and $20 credit on it. I'm gonna acivate it now and then message this bitch - this could be interesting. Stay tuned for the outcome.

Also I'm a bit freaked out and scared

I JUST GOT A FCUKING MESSAGE FROM THAT PSYCHO... HOW THE HELL DID SHE GET MY NUMBER?!

Sigghh, I bet she just called work and asked for it and someone gave it to her without thinking...

FCUK FCUK FCUK.

AND she said that "I see you every day"

WHAT THE FCUK... STALKER.

I messaged back saying "I think you sent that to the wrong number, this is Trev"

**EDIT**

Wait... the message come from some number that wasn't the one she gave me as being hers. I'm starting to wonder if this is all a joke.

Hahaha PHEW! That SMS was a false alarm. One of my mates that I'd told about the stalker sms'd me from his other mate's phone to freak me out, and his GF thought that was horrible and made him fess up.

So even tho that wasn't real, this stalker bitch still is. I think I might get wasted and call her tomorrow

Mate I don't know what to say... I've now had countless letters and cards left for me, all of them asking for my body for money and other crazy things. One card even had 10 bucks in it - woohoo, paid for my parking at work for the day.

The letters have also steadily gotten more and more warped too. She has written things like "One positive thing I do is donate blood" in them, and actually makes constant reference to the fact that she gives blood. My mates reckon that's her way of trying to tell me that she doesn't have AIDS. Great, huh?

Shit guys, I dunno what to say... pretty much all of my friends, even those that though it was fcucking funny at the start have told me to go to the cops now, due to the constant phonecalls at work, letters etc. and how weird they are getting.

She has also been asking about my girlfriend when she calls and a few staff members from work have said that she has approached them and asked her about my girlfriend before, which makes me seriously concerned about the safety of my girlfriend. It might be nothing, but I'm scared that she'd hurt my girlfriend or something, this chick seems more than a bit unhinged, she wanted to know if my girlfriend worked with me, when she'd be in etc. Thankfully the other staff members have had the sense to tell her when she has approaced them and asked them these things that they are not allowed to discuss these things with members of the public. My girlfriend doesn't work with me, thankfully, but I still have a considerable concern for her safety...

Anyhow, if I get a minute, I'll scan up a few more of the letters to show ya what I mean about them getting more and more warped...

So yeah...

Note: I've fixed the dead pic link in the first post, so it's visable now.

Here's a couple more letters that I have next to me on my comp desk, so I scanned them in. The one where she says "this is the last time that I'll ask you"... there's been heaps more since that so it's not like it's over. Also, notice that she begun to write "I don't have..." then she scribbled it out - I suspect that was going to be that she didnt have any diseases, but then wrote the bit about blood instead at the bottom.

and another
